Hi, I'm Sofia
Project manager and parent. An expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn't in our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily tasks seemed more daunting than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built CodexRoverFlux
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated only when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a paid-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Spain goes on, as does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
